Quest Advanced Technologies™
Quest Advanced Technologies is an exciting, fast emerging disc golf manufacturer based out of the Chicago area. This “new kid” on the block has actually been around for a long time, principally working in the plastics and molding business. Hmm, plastics & molding… what benefit could a plastics and molding company offer to the disc golf world? How about a superior knowledge of materials, hands on inception-to-completing manufacturing, and unmatched technological resources... for starters.
Quest’s introduction into disc golf consisted of nothing less then a totally complete line of golf discs. This unheard of move was soundly based in the fact that Quest had already been blending plastics and engineering molds for other disc golf companies for years. Since their initial head first plunge into the disc golf industry, Quest AT has been consistently turning out a seemingly endless supply of advanced products and fresh ideas
Note on Quest’s relationship with Gateway: They are two separate and completely independent business entities. Given, they’re two companies who’s discs I personally love & fill my bag with; But, bottom line - they have no affiliation or association organizationally speaking.

Quest Plastics & Innovation
Quest Advanced Technologies (AKA: “The Wiz of the Plastics Biz”) has an exhaustive resumé in plastics manufacturing. With years of hands-on experience blending compounds and engineering molds, Quest’s background laid the ideal foundation for their leap into golf disc production.
Quest AT is uncompressing in their commitment to using only premium materials in all of their products. And as such, enjoy a reputation as one of disc golf’s highest caliber companies. They also keep their margins as tight as possible in an effort to keep their high tech discs well within the reach of the everyday recreational player.
Many disc golf companies take several years and countless production runs to really settle in on their preferred plastic blends. Since Quest’s initial disc offerings, they’ve gotten their blend formulas and ratios “dialed in” in record time. Below, are some general descriptions of the plastics Quest is currently making.
Note: Currently, all Quest discs are clearly marked with their plastic type. If it’s not marked, then two things are true: 1: you didn't buy it at Give a Rip (shame upon you), and 2: It's probably a little older and slightly less durable.
Quest AT Super Resilient Polymer™ (SRP)
Quest Advanced Technology’s Super Resilient Polymer (SRP) disc plastic is an untainted Urethane/Hytrel blend which is very similar to “Star” mix you might be familiar with. Except, the Urethane component is a higher grade. And purportedly, Quest’s Urethane element is also superior to that which is used in the “E” plastic blend.
Rather than fawn on, about the many superior attributes of Quest’s SRP plastic, I’ll just say that the name (acronym) speaks volumes. With that, let’s allow Webster to pick it up from here;
- Super
- Of high grade or quality. Exhibiting the characteristics of its type to an extreme or excessive degree.
- Resilient
- Capable of withstanding shock without permanent deformation or rupture. Tending to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.
- Polymer
- A chemical compound or mixture of compounds formed by polymerization and consisting essentially of repeating structural units.
In a nutshell: If you want the best Urethane/Hytrel blend (you do) of disc plastic, then reach past the rest for a Quest SRP golf disc.
Quest AT Nike ULTRALIGHT Thermal Plastic Rubber™ (TPR)
Quest AT Nike ULTRALIGHT TPR is a high test Thermal Plastic Rubber made without any fillers. Most “S” and “DX” plastics use cheap fillers to reduce the cost and increase company profits. Quest does not add these worthless materials in their Nike blend.
To get right down to it, Quest ULTRALIGHTs are quickly becoming many disc golfers’ furthest flying discs. And, players are achieving these monster drives throwing at only 70% to 80% effort. The lighter Nike discs are ideal for those (like me) who aren’t naturally blessed with a really “big arm” for maximum driving “D.” They’re also a perfect fit for anyone who’s new to the game and wants to quickly and dramatically add big “D” to their drives. Who wouldn’t?!
Moreover, ULTRALIGHTs are also without rival for their insanely long downwind drives. Everyone should have one in their bag for just such an occasion. The ULTRALIGHT Infernos are a very popular choice for this and are easily one of the industries most sought after discs by golfers everywhere.
This line up (in the long distance drivers) is without a doubt, one of the most exciting developments to happen in golf discs in a long time. Thanks Quest!
Quest AT Dimple Technology™ (DT)
Quest Advanced Technologies hits another home run with their creative Dimple Technology (DT). This time, the think-tanks at Quest looked to “ball golf” for inspiration. After a great deal of testing, trial, and persistence; they’ve got these things really flying. DTs have loft and speed characteristics that are wholly individual in today’s disc golf market.
Quest DT uses actual golf ball-like dimples on the underside of the rim (and top of some models) to reduce the energy robbing force of friction on the disc during flight. These small dimples in the plastic’s surface effectively hold little pockets of air that move with the disc while it missiles through the sky. As the disc is blazing forward, the air it cuts through slips over these “air pockets” with very little resistance. The reduced drag on the disc’s propulsion endows it with a very long glide, at the same enabling it to travel screaming fast.
You might ask, “why didn’t any of disc golf’s juggernauts ever conceptualized this break-through idea in all their years of manufacturing?” But, why ask why? Buy, try, & really let fly - a Quest DT golf disc today.
Quest AT Odyssey Overmolded Gyroscopic Technology Discs
Upon first sight, one might utter, “it’s odd, ya see?!” But, after further consideration, the genius of this design becomes evident. The very unique Odyssey discs where the first flyers to bear the Quest Advanced Technologies name. These unique discs use two very different plastics in their construction to achieve one-of-a-kind gyroscopic attributes.
Oh, and when you have one of those, “Oh, $#|* !!” water throws; put that golden retriever back in your bag. These babies float.
Quest AT Putting & Approach Disc Golf Discs
Quest Advanced Technologies produces some of the most ingenuitive putters on the market.
Quest AT's line of midrange discs are true flyers with predictable results. Solid, consistent upshots and midrange throws win rounds. With a Quest AT midrange/fairway driver, that's exactly what you get.
